SimplyShot Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 6, 2026

This policy explains what Christian Bravo, doing business as SimplyShot ("we") collects when you use SimplyShot, its website and your account, what we do with it, and what we never collect. We are responsible for this data (the "controller"). Contact details are at the end.

The short version

  • Your photos, your Lightroom catalogs, your develop settings and the profiles SimplyShot learns from your work never leave your computer. Learning your style and editing your catalogs both happen on your machine.
  • We never use your photos or your edits to train any model, ours or anyone else's.
  • We handle only what we need to run your account, keep SimplyShot working and answer you. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

What we collect

What — Why

Your email address and password (the password is stored only in a form that cannot be read back) — To create your account, sign you in and contact you about it

Your plan, trial and subscription status — To know which features your account can use

An identifier for each computer you activate, derived from your system and not reversible, the name of its operating system, and when each computer was activated — To apply your plan's computer limit, let you deactivate a computer, and notice if an account seems to be shared

For each profile you create, a code made from its folder's identifier, which cannot be turned back into it, and when it was created, used or deleted. Never the profile itself or its name — To apply your plan's profile limit

The SimplyShot version you use — To offer the right updates and help with support

Payment details — Handled directly by our payment provider; we receive only whether a payment succeeded and the last digits of the card

Error reports and usage figures: which step failed and why, the SimplyShot version, your operating system, the model of your processor and graphics card and how much memory your computer has, how long each step of creating a profile and editing a catalog took, and how many photos and catalogs were involved. File paths and names are removed on your computer before anything is sent — To find and fix problems and to make SimplyShot faster on every kind of computer. On by default; you can turn it off at any time in Settings → Account

Only if you answer "How did the edits turn out?" in the app: your rating, which adjustments you marked as off, your comment, how many photos the catalog had and the same code for the profile described above. Never the catalog's or the profile's name — To learn where SimplyShot misses your style and improve it. Answering is optional, and you can stop the question in Settings → Account

Only if you turn on "Help improve SimplyShot": how accurate your profile is for each slider, as numbers — To improve how SimplyShot learns. Nothing about your photos or your style is included

Which version you downloaded, from the website or the app, and when — To know how many people use each version

Which Lightroom Classic catalog version you edited, when it is one we had not seen before (a number only, never the catalog) — To keep SimplyShot working with new Lightroom Classic versions

Messages and feedback you send us from the app or the website, and anything you choose to attach — To answer them and fix what they report

If you join the waitlist: your email and, if you tell us, what you photograph — To invite you when there is a spot

Notes our team writes about your account, for example about a support request — To help you consistently

Technical logs our servers keep for every request: IP address, time and the address requested — To keep the Service secure and fix problems. Kept only as long as needed for that

What we never collect

  • Your photos, previews, thumbnails or RAW files.
  • Your Lightroom catalogs, their contents or file paths.
  • Your develop settings or the editing profiles SimplyShot creates.
  • Your use of the app photo by photo.
  • The names of your catalogs, folders or clients.

Why we may use it

  • To provide the Service you signed up for: your account, plan, computers, downloads and updates.
  • Our legitimate interest in keeping the Service secure and working, and in fixing problems: error reports, usage figures and technical logs. You can turn off error reports and usage figures in Settings.
  • Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time: quality numbers, the ratings you choose to send and the waitlist.
  • Legal obligations, for example keeping invoices.

SimplyShot does not make decisions about you by automated means. Its AI only proposes develop settings for your photos, on your computer.

Cookies and storage

We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. The website and the app store only what keeps you signed in, on your own device. We count visits to the website with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you: it tells us only how many pages were viewed, and from which country, website and kind of device visits come. Because there is no tracking, there is nothing to opt out of, and we treat "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals as already respected.

Emails

We email you about your account, your subscription and important changes. We send news or offers only if you agree to receive them, and every such email lets you stop them.

Who else handles it

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. It is handled only by:

  • the providers that help us run the Service (hosting, email and payments), under contracts that limit its use to that purpose;
  • Adobe, only if you choose to install Adobe DNG Converter from SimplyShot: it downloads from Adobe's servers, under Adobe's privacy policy;
  • authorities, when the law requires it.

Where it is stored

Account data is stored on servers located in Puerto Rico, United States, which may be a country other than yours; when that is the case, we protect it as this policy describes and as the law requires for international transfers. Everything SimplyShot produces from your photos stays in its data folder on your computer, and you can delete it at any time by removing the app's data.

How we protect it

Connections to our servers are encrypted, and access to account data is limited to the people who run the Service. Your profiles are encrypted on your computer with a key that belongs to your account. If a security incident affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

How long we keep it

  • Account data, computers, profile codes, error reports, usage figures, feedback and notes: while your account is open. When it is deleted, we delete them too.
  • Waitlist entries: until you are invited and create your account, or until you ask us to remove you.
  • Technical logs: only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
  • Records the law requires, such as invoices: for the time the law sets.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to stop using it for anything that relies on your consent or our legitimate interest. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe, or the CCPA and similar laws in California and other US states), you may have further rights, including not being treated differently for using them.

To use them, delete your account from your account page or write to [email protected]. We may ask you to confirm it is you, and we answer within one month (45 days where the CCPA applies). You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

SimplyShot is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a minor has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies. The effective date at the top shows the current version.
