Privacy
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Learning and editing both run on your computer, and your photos, catalogs and profiles never leave it. Online, SimplyShot only checks your account and sends error reports and usage figures without file names, which you can turn off in Settings.
Do you train your AI on my photos?
No. Your photos and your edits never leave your computer, and we never use them to train any model. Your profile learns from your work only for you.
Does it need an internet connection?
Yes, to create profiles and to edit catalogs, so your account can be checked. Your photos do not travel for that. Without a connection you can still open the app.
Using it
How many photos does it need?
At least 2,500 photos you developed yourself, from as many catalogs as you like. More photos, and more different shoots, teach it more.
Does it change my original catalogs?
Never. It reads your edited catalogs without writing to them, and it only edits catalogs that have not been developed yet.
Can I change what it did?
Yes. The edits are ordinary Lightroom settings. Adjust any photo as you always would, or step back in its history.
Plans and billing
On how many computers can I use it?
On two computers of your own, for example a desktop and a laptop. You can move it to a new computer from your account at any time. One account is for one photographer: for a studio with several editors, write to us.
How many profiles can I have?
Three, for example one for weddings, one for portraits and one for families. Need more? With Pro, each extra profile is $4.99 a month, or $49 a year on the yearly plan, added from your account. Or delete one to make room for another.
What happens when the trial ends?
Creating profiles and editing stop until you subscribe. Your profiles stay on your computer and open again when you do.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, from your account. It keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for, and you are not charged again.
Can I get a refund?
For annual plans, yes: ask within 14 days of the payment and we refund it in full. Monthly plans are not refunded, but you can cancel at any time and keep it until the end of the month.
What it supports
Does it work with Capture One, or with Lightroom (the cloud version)?
Not yet. Today it works with Lightroom Classic catalogs only.
Can it learn black and white edits, or edit JPEGs?
Not yet. Today it learns from and edits RAW photos in color. If a catalog mixes in black and white or JPEG photos, those are left out and stay as they are.
Which cameras does it work with?
Any camera whose RAW files the free Adobe DNG Converter can read, which covers the cameras Lightroom supports. Keep the converter up to date for the newest cameras.
